Pay-per-click (PPC):

This is one of the most popular options to market your website. Many people are using PPC for advertising their websites. This way of campaign works because users are shown relevant ads that match the context of the sites and products or services they are looking for. The PPC ads are useful for the users too and prompts them to visit the advertiser’s website.

Through this strategy, the advertisers get the targeted visitors at their site. But if you are going for this option, you need to plan well since most of the PPC ads are now based on bidding for keywords and you may not get expected returns if you have not selected the keywords carefully. Before using any service for PPC ads, a little research can help you get the best deal. It is also important to track and test the PPC ads frequently.

Newsletter and e-mail ads:

Websites can be promoted through e-mail and newsletters ads. In this strategy, your exclusive email message will be sent to relevant people. Advantage of advertising through e-mail is that it makes direct contact with the consumer. Its disadvantages include the possibility that the consumer will delete the message without reading the email.

Newsletter ads can be sent to customers after permission. Newsletters let consumers know about upcoming events, promotions or new products. In this type of advertising, a company that wants to send a newsletter to their customers may ask them at the point of purchase if they would like to receive the newsletter. With newsletters, the possibility of a user deleting the newsletter email, without reading through it, is much lower (since the users had already expressed their interest in receiving the newsletters).

Expired domains:

You can advertise and market your sites through the traffic diverted via other domains. Buy relevant domains as soon as they expire and redirect their traffic to your website. Another way of implementing this strategy is to pay for the services of the companies that resell expired domain traffic as a number of hits per month. And these companies also provide you traffic from hundreds of other related sites. But this option also needs research since relevance is of utmost importance here. Also, you must take care that the domain you buy is not related to any blacklisted websites, which may lead to your website too getting blacklisted with the search engines (something that you need to avoid at all costs).
