So, we have seen that quality of content is important from search engine optimization point of view and we have also seen that quantity of content is equally important too. Now, here we talk about the presentation of your web pages and website.
Presentation and the look & feel of the website are equally important. A site that looks good and is well recognized will attach a sense of genuineness to the website. Such websites are generally more successful in attracting loyal traffic for themselves (of course, here we are assuming that the website or the website content does provide value to its visitors). More traffic would in turn translate into better page rankings for your web pages and hence help you attain your search engine optimization objective.
Moreover, good looking sites (that also have good content) are like magnets for other websites too. Such websites will generally get referred-to on other websites too i.e. automatic one way links can get built to your website. Again, the more links (web pages) pointing to your website, the better the search engine ranking of your web page /website.
Besides that, if you have a good looking website, the ads on your website will look more genuine too. And you can in fact place your ads more strategically in order to get more clicks on your ads (this is especially desirable for those web masters who place Google AdSense or other such pay per click ads on their web pages). We will discuss more about this in the dedicated articles on Google AdSense; here it is sufficient to point out that you can use various color combinations (and other tricks) in order to make your ads more inline with the web page content or to make them stand out on the web page.
Okay. So, here we have discussed a bit on the presentation of web pages and how they influence your overall SEO strategy. We will continue on this theme in the second part of this article but the focus will be a bit different there.
